I've driven a clio 1.2 the same shape as yours, and tbh it is a lovely car to drive, I don't know if you find the seating position quite high up but I love that. Handles well, and for a 1.2 I was amazed how quick it was, but for the life of me I couldn't get used to the clutch - I think it may of been sh**gged on it mind, but the bite was so high I couldn't even reverse the damn thing at slow speed lol. The only other thing I hate about the clio is the limited rear leg room

Bowning hasnt your clio kind of self exploded? Needs new gearbox and CV's doesnt it?
Cant fault the french build quality Aint seen your car yet tho but looks nice from the pics
Was looking at buying your old sport last the other day to drop a new engine in it but it sold. Was trying to get it for uinder £200

nah man seat nice and low in mine, the clutch in mine is worse again competition clutch as standard calves like arny lol, my mates 1.2 16v was mega quick for wot it was and handled pretty damn good too, leg room is an issue in the 172 too in the back,

Yeah the legroom ain't too good when driving the lads about when they're 6ft + lol haha, struggle in the corsa!

the build quality is surprisingly gd, just coz the bearing in my box gone dont mean it aint, someone musta ragged the tits off it before i had it, nt impressed, oh well new box and shafts soon, shafts being done this week, gearbox next hopefully

i've been savin for a 172 since two weeks ago the corsa's been givin me too many problems, even though most of them were my fault lol, earliest i'll have it will be around the end of october though, btw is the strut brace still available and what part of south wales u live in?

yer still got silly steering wheel, funny enough i think anything big feels silly now its natural and so cool now lol, i woulda had a phase 2 but like u said quite a bit more money and theres millions in bridgend, black ph1 rare as so thought be different plus its like 100kg lighter than ph2 full fat and mine is a full fat

can only just afford a phase one, n not really sure what there normal price is but looking at spending around £1700. really prefer a black one but havn't seen one for less than 2000 so silver will do.
