How much were you quoted for the brakes, and for the headlight? (I know you said £1600 for both BTW just interested in the seperate amounts).

Can i still drive the car?
Just picked it up paid for MOT and Insp2 That was best part of £700
Car is far smoother now, and doesnt need another service (thank god) for 15k.
On the MOT certificate it says the headlight was only reason for failure. The pads are an advisory and the disks where not mentioned. The garage (who didnt do the MOT) said the discs are on the minimum and eed to be replaced asap.
So basicly to get it through the MOT i need to either do a dodgy or swop headlights.
Then buy some brakes
SO not too bad...

That cant be right.
My Grandad had is AMG serviced. All the filters changed, all 16x Spark plugs, new disks and pads at the front and some other stuff. That was £2000 so I cant see how a headlight and front disks/pads is £1600?!

Headlight Supply and fit: £887
Discs and pads supply and fit: £538 (inc sensors + fluid etc)
Price= £1425
That price they gave was ball park before they worked it all out and doesnt include some minor bits for my aircon that need replacing.

You can drive it until midnight then
It will also be fine to drive it to the test centre aslong as it's booked in.
Edit: Beat me to the edit Tom.

You can drive it until midnight then. and you then can't drive it unless it is to a pre-booked MOT or pre-booked partial retest.

but the discs may end up being to thin, thus fail.

Jambo buy the parts yourself and fit them yourself then just take it back for the MOT, will save you loads of money.
