£265 for a full set of pads? Fitted I hope?

I've got V6 brakes on the XE using standard discs with random Mintex pads I got for a fiver from a guy that works at the factory where they're made. They've never not been able to stop me when I've wanted to.

Mintex make other pads other than the 1144, you can get there OE replacement ones for about 20 quid a pair which is probably what you have.

I know a guy who runs yellows on his R33 skyline and he says the pads take that much heat the discs crack

Use the M1144 pads with the standard disc's and your be fine.
They are very good pads, I highly rate them. Much, much better than any EBC tat.

I also would recommend using http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/ to purchase them. Very competative price wise with excellent service to boot.

Mintex 1144 for mine are about £120 for a set, disks are about £25 each.

So I'm guessing Ollie is talking about a full set of pads and disks for that money.

Wrong way around? reds next for you?

Greenstuff on the VX were utter rubbish compared to mintex, but a mechanic mate of mine with an E46 M3 swears by them. His words (not mine) 'you need to get some heat in them before they work correctly....they simply dont work on lightweight cars'

Looking back at old e-mails and stuff they were black diamonds, meant to be about £50. I'd recommend them to anyone.
