I do same as most apart from only upto 10p. I keep the rest in my wallet whilst having a bit of change in the car just incase it is needed for parking.

My best mate had a giant bud bottle about 2ft high, he used to throw loads in £1 and £2 quids cos he's not bad off, anyway he came home oneday and the top was broke on it. It had got rather heavy with all the coins in, that heavy that when his missus was trying to sly money out of it she had dropped it which blew her underhand ways!

I had one of these too. They make an excellent money box

Anything below £1 used to go in the tub. Cashed it in at just under £400, was about 1/3 full.

Tip, put newspaper down on your beige carpet before emptying coins, it gets a bit dirty

Got a coca-cola can container thing. I usually put 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's in there. But I do sometimes raid it if I don't have change and fancy a can of drink from the machine at work

You get used to it I have to have a massive collection of 5p's in the car for the toll bridge I go over every day to get to and from work. Just bought a new bag so have about £5 worth in there at the moment - that's a lot of 5p's!

The beauty of being a former employee of the local shop means I know the staff so can go in with a fiver and come out with a bag of change. Saves having to go to the bank
