It just looks like a crappy concept car you see at motor shows that will never go into production. Doesn't look finished

The Vectra and Insigina yes maybe. But I can't believe in a years time you are going to be able to pick up at 10k Insigina VXR.

i would agree. the smaller VXRs seem to hold value too but the Insignia wont and this is probably due to the cost of running thing incl taxing the car, replacement tyres, servicing, fuel bill
I would also imagine most new ones will be company cars although compnies are clamping down on their lists due to CSR policies - most want to appear green so will not let staff trun up in a car of that manner

Behave does it. Its nippy yes, gets to illegal speeds in no time at all, but pinned into your seat?? No way. Its not an Evo. I wouldnt even say an RS4 'pins you into the seat'.
Oli - I could provide trade screen dumps of all those Vectra VXR's that have been sold in auction this year. There were £9k VXR's in abundance. The Insignia will perform better obviously...but not by miles.
My projections are circa £15k at 12 months old.
Whitter - You wont see any written on company fleets, apart from maybe those perk drivers who are given an allowance and/or take a salary sacrifice scheme etc. You wont want to be paying BIK on one of these at 268g/km c02.

Is that something more to do with the fact that the Vectra was at the end of it's lifespan and Vauxhall wanted rid of them?

The product age didnt help no, and the fact vauxhall distressed them with some juicy discounts.
I could have to eat my words in 12 months, but I dont think I will be far wrong from £15k trade.

Interesting to read what you think they will be worth.
I understand your lazy power claim too, but thats kinda relative to V6 power anyway, but I guess i'd expect a bit more of a kick with turbos, but also i guess they've tried to mellow out the power delivery to save clutches/driveability?
Still, It is a lot of car for £26k, and after sitting in one the other week, it does show that VX have moved forwards a little with the interior. I found it a plesant place to be.
But by god its a big old heavy car, deffo a motorway cruiser machine.....

On another note, Stu Harris VXR brand manager has this to say regarding Nurburgring lap times of the Astra & Insignia
"8:20 according to Opel team. So faster than an Astra but not by much
Mind you there are rumours of another Astra attempt as Reuter moaned about so areas of the track being a bit damp on the 8 35 run.
I went round myself in the test cars (easily doing a 19 min lap )

Crikey! What an impressive looking motor. Wasn't even aware of the existance of this thing.
I really like it.

4x4 level of road tax won't help when it comes to selling them on I'd imagine.

That's what they use on the billboards in town. Look much meaner from the front.
When you getting a shot at the new Astra then Byron? Looking forward to seeing that review .
