a 306 DT would need serious engine mods to get it to 60 in 6s. a ibiza tdi with 180 only gets mid 7s tp 60

the 306 dturbo standard to 60 is about 12 seconds.. an puts out 92bhp and 142lb of torque - with a free tuneup (which u can do if your mechanically minded) it shifts a lot quicker - after turnin the fuel and boost up mines is hittin 60 in 8.5 seconds - and that is a free tune, ie. cost no money. But a lot of people charge about £300 for this operation (van aaken) it only takes about an hour to do..

Yeah, yeah, you're telling me that you can shave 3.5 seconds of a 60 time by turning a few screws. What a lot of pish.
If it was that easy then why didn't Peugeot put it in as standard.
Or maybe your engine is going to blow up soon.
Either way I seriously doubt that your diesel does 60 in 8.5. Boy Racer mythology (get a dictionary) is still alive and well.
Kind Regards

im sorry fella but i agree with him. the manufacturer didnt do it as standard for 3 reasons:
1. it would make the td's quicker than the so called performance petrol models.
2. it uses more fuel cos in standard trim the td's run unbelievable lean
3. it makes the engine louder as the turbo whistle is more hence it doesnt sound as refined.
as for blowing the engine, incase u didnt know the manufactureres fit an overboost valve which dumps all boost that would push it over the limit, on a corsa its set to dump at 1.1 bar, the standard boost pressure for a corsa td is 0.67 bar, so that gives you half as much boost again too play with that is still within the capabilities of the engine.
corsa td 0-60 in standard trim is 13seconds, 1.4 16v corsa sport is 10.5
explain too me why the 1.4 16v is slower than mine then.

like i said - download my 0-60 run and tell me im bullshitting! and im running 1.3 bar of boost - my KKK turbo is capable of going to 1.7 bar quite happily which is what motorsport developments have done b4 - but its pointless without extra cooling.
