Its a great stadium, but simply due to the capacity OT will be in there.

Elland Road is a terrible stadium, its scruffy as fuck and no way fit enough to hold World Cup games.
Although i'm guessing that Mr. Bates is using this as an excuse to get funds from the FA/FIFA/Whoever to do it up so he doens't have to put his hand in his pocket.

Not seen the plans for the New Forest stadium.
But don't fifa rank the grounds on a host of things other than just capacity, ease of access, general facilities etc...?

Pretty much all the current stadiums who have submitted requests to host games have plans for either expansion or refurbishment to make them up to the standards required.
Danny - Im not really sure any money is being given to the clubs to do the work.

Well that deffo counts Leeds out then.
Would be a good choice as there is a lot of space for parking etc, and Leeds does have excellent transport links but I cant see the stadium being up to scratch. I'd guess they would pick the KC over Bellend Road from these parts.

Leg room is shocking at Elland Road. Most uncomfortable experience ever.

I dont mind the lack of leg room as we generally stand when away from home.
Its the 1000's of 6 fingers freaks sat in the home end that usually bothers me.

I think they will have a semi as well - if its having group games then it will have a 1/4 and semi final.

Cosmo you may know more about this but if Anfield was picked would that mean redevelopment or a new anfield could receive funding from the governemnt to assist any new builds or would it have to be all paid by the club?

Yeah, because London doesnt have many hotels
TBH the new spurs one wasnt even mentioned in the report I read, I just added that myself as thought it should be mentioned.
I doubt it'll be included as if its just down to two in London then Emirates will have yours beaten.
