i have a standard redtop with rear stripped just an exhaust and filter and i have a recorded 6.389 secs im sure ill try and find the info.
if you time it right you can get off the line with no wheelspin, and good tyres helps i use goodyear eagles

Im not suggesting its not possible.
Well not without having about 180bhp and a car that weighs about 1050kg.
But if you says it happened, then it mustve happened.

A 180bhp one might. But 6.5 standard seems reasonable considering CTR's are dispatched after 1st gear.
Are you serious, a c20xe corsa doesn't dispatch a CTR, when my CTR was standard it was the other way round

14.6 std engine 1/4 mile corsa xe yeah, easily defeat a ctr. civic's are very over rated by their owners.

I reckon around 6.5 seconds for a standard XE Corsa
As standard as they get is ecotech tophat, corsa air box and cat back system.

Agreed.. Std Type R's are not quick.
A valver corsa is about 6-6.5 all dependant on driver/weight of the car and transmision used. F16/F20.
Its abit of a gray area.

A standard XE Corsa wont dispatch a standard CTR.There wouldnt be much in it imo.But neither car would leave the other with ease.
F16CR has near enough,if not the same ratios, as the F20.

It TOTALLY depends on the car, weight, engine, WHEEL SIZE etc...
15"s are best, good engine, light car, 6-7 seconds
16"s, not going to see under 6.5, prob high 6 if a good launch..
17"s, if you get under 7 i'd be highly impressed. Morelike 7.5 odd from what i've seen...
However.....

But its a load of tripe. I was changing at 6k, and the timer stopped whilst I was still in 2nd...
Given that the rev limiter (6700rpm) on 16" wheels only gave 59mph in 2nd gear, I found this result to be highly comical. It was morelike 7 as I span my way allllll the way through 1st
My engine was fine, and pulled to about 100rpm short of the redline. It weighed over a tonne though, and slightly lost out to Type R's all the way up to top end (not by much at all!!! But it did loose out).
Engine came out of a standard (totally!!) GTE 16v, with all the history, servicing, and owned by an old chap so there was nowt wrong with it. It ran an F20 box, air filter, and 2" straight through exhaust system (so standard size exhaust).
