Using the line of something like "i keep notes, i.e lists of presents you say you like so come christmas/birthday etc you get what you want".
Proves you have nothing to hide, and stops her snooping and ruining her own presents. Give a a reason, not just a "its my privacy" that will get you no-where and only cause less trust.
TBH, if I told mine I was keeping notes on presents, she'd be more inclined to look through it... She's not fussed otherwise and 100% trusts me. I'd let he go through it, and often leave it lying around.. or leave her to play the games or surf t'net or facebook on it. I've got nothing to hide 
About the presents though... she's a fecking nightmare! I'd hate to be trying to hide something from her because I've no doubt she'd find it

Ive had it, but even when ive nothing to hide, even if its a text from a girl im friends with asking how i am it just makes them even more paranoid. Thankfully my latest is a bit more laid back

Not knowingly had it happen to me.
Did have a girlfriend that when she got a new phone she set it up so you had to put a password in to get to the text messages. Wasn't bothered up until that point then started wondering what she had to hide as why else would you put a password on

Never has this happen to me but That's only because i have nothing to hide.I personally think if there is no trust in a relationship then there is nothing.

Ex used to read my messages before me proper annoyed me at times but never had anything to hide so didnt bother me much.
Current, she went through and found messages off one of my best friends asking if i wanted anything to happen between me and her (from before i was going out with the gf) but she got pissy with me and moaned at me and hasnt done it since (to my knowledge) but wouldnt bother me if she did as i have nothing to hide and nothing ever happened with me and the friend.

My ex used to do this all the time, tbh i never used to mind id happily let her check through it, if i have nothing to hide why shouldnt i let her check? Surely letting her look through your phone and finding nothing will maker her trust you more, Its when you start deleting things that makes her not trust you and want to check more.

but i did to the ex once, and it proved me right .. she didn't like me knowing the truth and scarpered away with her new bloke ditching me and her friends she'd known for years ..

My ex had a password on everything on her phone... always thought that was a bit dodgy she never went through mine though, to my knowledge at least!

Easiest way to find out is to send your phone naughty messages from another sim. (Could ruin your relationship mind )

I used to have to keep a password on my messages etc because my sister and mum used to go through my phone if I left it around. So maybe there's a reason that isn't you, as to why she has passwords! Like nosey friends!

Doesnt bother me, got nothing to hide so if she wants to look through it then she can.... altho goin thru my ex's usually resulted in me finding out she had been in contact with people she shouldnt have been.

My ex used to check mine a lot, I didnt have anything to hide, but he would make things out of nothing..a number that wasnt save that I had text toally innocently was suddenly an crazy affair. I dont care since I never cheat or have anything to hide, yet think you should do it, Like I wouldnt open mail not addressed to me.
