Just had some with bacon

Although i was taught to add a touch (or splash) of milk/cream to the 'egg' mixture, as it makes it a little richer. Although i've never tried it with anything other than a load of pepper/bacon, sounds like i'm missing out with the sugar/maple toppings.

yeah ive never had it with sugar or anything either. .. i like savory stuff over sweet anyway

Actually, it's called French toast (think it's called Pain Dore, Pain Perdu is similar but different) as it originated from France (oddly enough) and devised as a way to use stale bread.

whisk 3 eggs + a little bit of milk + sliced bread = the way i make french toast.

I have salt on mine.

yeah a girl at work said powdered sugar. i guess thats like icing sugar. she's american so probably calling it some daft name.

on the american film road trip the fat guy puts on sugar. its an american thing i think, coating sugar on almost anything edable.

yeah mate they like their sugar. i went to a space shuttle launch in florida a few years ago and we were up at 5am for it. i saw a huge woman destroy a box of 12 dunkin donuts then ask her husband for a bite of his sandwich. i bet diabetes is high over ther.

make cheese dreams instead =

two bits of french toast/bread but slice/grate cheese in the middle of both while frying so cheese melts inside

I had no idea that eggy bread was what we called French Toast.

Nice with Strawberry jam on. Also, honey or Maple syrup.

Incidentally, French bread is something totally different for those unsure.
