go to your local DVLA centre with your car insurance, tax disc,m.o.t,old log book, your new v5 private plate doc...

they will do it there on the day you will have to fit your new plates and tax disc also on the day.

+ if you bought the plate from DVLA the transfer £80 fee should be payed for and should only cost you the price of getting the plates made

I put mine on as soon as i walked out of the DVLA office. Printed a new mot, tax disc and restamped the log bog there and then.

That was about 4 weeks ago

If its like the nottingham one, it doesnt open at weekend end and its normal office hours (if not a little shorter).

I had to book a day off work, due to me working all the hours they are open, and if you go on a friday, you have got no chance, its usually 'ram packed'.

Pretty shit service tbh, as they are in effect charging you £80 for it, yet the actually process takes about 2 mins. My words were 'Is that it?'

I work nights so being about during the day isn't a problem, does seem a stupid service though. Just annoying they haven't got anything on the website about Xmas opening times.
