No where near fast? Maybe yours is fucked. Nippy? I would say my 1.2 16v Corsa was nippy, the Astra VXR is fast.

my mate has got a 3.0 mv6 engine in his b and it has got a xe lightened and balanced flywheel and a f20 box and fuck me sideways that is fast!!

he took me out and on a stretch of dual carage (sp) we beat a 530(proven) bhp 4wd celica from 0-70 (for the coppers on here) but it kept going off clock at top end of fourth
and to top it all off its a 3 door maroon corsa with 15" steelies no spolier tiny but useful backbox and a 1.0 12V badge on back

Yeah I accept an XE Corsa would probably be quite close to a VXR to 100mph maybe but I would class a well setup Corsa XE as a "FAST" car in the right hands.

My mates totally standard Evo4 RS smashed a supposedly 292bhp Astra VXR last night. With that power I would have expected him to over take once putting the power down, but it never. 3 times, same scenario.

Off the clock in 4th on an F20??Thats a perfect example of how much corsa speedo's over-read.

Olly they aint A 1.2 engine is scary slow, a little dangerous tbh. There is nothing wrong with Donnas astra at all. Just got to get the blinkers off im afraid fella.

An Ariel atom is fast, a F430 is fast, an FQ400 is fast, SC Jag is fast, a Skyline GTR is fast, a GSXR1000 is fast, a Ducati 1098 is fast the astra is nippy.

I tried the astra against a Nissan GTR and it was like comparing a LET corsa to a 1.2 16v.

I really wouldn't, and I owned one, and Lee thought my engine was a peach and very smooth.

40-120mph and the XE would loose out hugely. Come on, you own a VXR, you should know they arn't great cars from 0, the astra pulls better when its moving, but its not a fast car. My bike isn't a "fast" bike, but it would absolutly wipe the floor of the astra.

14 secs 0-100 isn't quick. Sub 10 is fast.

I guess your opinion of fast and my opinion of fast is very different.

fast is in the eye of the beholder; to an 17 year old a corsa 1.4 sport is fast as are vtrs ect

to most normal people a astra vxr is most definatly a fast car

I think the VXR is fast, but could be faster. The Normally Aspirated BMW 330Ci is over 200kgs heavier and as quick to 60 with less BHP.

ok for me i would not feel it was very fast!

i class my van as nippy/fast! thats just under 300hp and 1100kg! on a rolling start its a little quicker then mums supercharged 240bhp exige! i also class the exige as being nippy, but not scary fast or anything!

i class the vx220 as being fast, cos when u go from the van/exige to vx its just sleps up a notch, just under 300 hp and 900kg! the difference is quick suprising!

so vxr astra adding extra 300+kg and less power means for me they wont feel fast!

It was funny, first of it it was two arms forming a T shape, which got a head shake, then he booted it and you could straight away tell it was a V6. So a 2 armed V shape got a head nod

i told here there were shift lights to tell her when to change gear but its took her few weeks to rev it high enough to hit them! lol

she is still driving it about in this weather on the semi slicks, lol. got pulled over by police about 6 weeks ago! going around shrewsbury by pass which is all round a bouts!

she got pulled over and police man said he was having to break the speed limit to catch her, she answered my car goes round corners, brakes and accelerates faster then yours but i was never breaking any speed limit because i dont do that! they just said nice car and left her to it! dont think they were expecting 55year old to get out of it!

just before she got pulled this car had come up very fast behind and was following far to close trying to get her 2put her foot down! she didnt bother cos she is sensiable, and it was police, she was quite mad that poilce were basically trying to make her speed

I would probably say the VXR is a quick car - I mean 14 secs to 100 is quick in any standards but not FAST compared to much more powerful or speed focused cars

VXR
And can you compare a VXR to a road bike in terms of performance. However your comparing your car to others that cost 3/4/5 times as much.

Our VXR is a quick car but its certainly not FAST. and the BMW is a quick car too but not FAST
