you talk so much shite the only car with poorer build quality. do you or have you ever owned a punto

These were known as the TURBO and later TURBO 2 based on the earlier Renault 5. Mid engined 1.4 turbo, 4 wheel drive rally versions tuned up to 400bhp.

My ex owned one. fukin tin box on wheels. When we were looking at them to buy, i remember thinking that the orange peel finish in the paintwork was shit repair work from accident damage untill i realised they were all like that

R5's are ok but they over heat a lot. I used to thrash My mate's R5 Turbs all the time, off the line and top end. Punto GT's are very tunable to over 200 bhp easily.
Punto GT all the way!!

first of all the gt turbo 5 engine is more tunable than the punto gt
1. the punto gt is quick because it has high boost pressure as standard
2.the 5 is more tunable (fact)
3.car blows head gaskets if theCOOLING system is not upgraded when you tune the car
4. the r5 is faster than the punto
5. looks better
6. easy to rebuild peauts to fix
7. you need serious money to get over 200 bhp out of a punto.. easy for an r5
8. more tuners for r5 more tuning parts available
9. the turbo 2 was a cossie killer

Still prefer Punto's. R5's are too old, just like the Escort RS, you buy or own one of them 2 ands you will spend most of your time under the bonnet rubbin your head. and Emptying your wallet. just like both my mates did. Someone do a poll on Punto GT or R5 GT, see what people choose???

noth those cars look bogging.
GT only runs a high mid range boost pressure. 10psi at the redline

a standard punto GT of the street against a standard R5 GTTof the street a punto would win. Nearly all R5GTT are shafted these days and lost loads of power whereas Punto's are fairly new cars. Obviously a recon'd r5 engine would win but not that many going around (that dont blow up within a 1000miles. lol)

The R5 is a monster round town, a guy I knew had one when I had my ERST. The thing was on rails, I couldn't keep up with it until I had mine chipped and then it was just the extra power on the sraights that kept me with it.
However both cars standard on the motorway, its no problem. The R5 isn't built for that! The RST would kick its arse.

dogz baws dont talk a pile of pish.. standard punto v standard 5
5 would win look at the figures mate or can u not read..
whats the point in havin a poll most peeps in here turn from corsa to punto so a bit bias.
the escort rs would get beat by a 5 up to about 110 then the escort would pass by no probs...
but hey its only a 1.4 carb turbo..
i know a few guys who have cossie eatin 5s and they are scary.. how many COSSIE SLAYIN PUNTO GTS ARE THERE EM NONE..

can get 180bhp out a punto without much cost, higher does cost cos you need bigger engine capacity i.e 1500cc or 1600cc t3 or t4 turbo etc.
