Ive cut fronts before on Vauxhalls but never rears.Didnt think it was possible due to them being pig-tailed.
Ive also done the heated up way on my Mk3 Astra Gsi.
60mm springs heated up and clamped in a vice.Worked well, sat perfect and the ride wasnt affected.I wouldnt do either to standard springs though.

To be honest people are saying it's only £60 like they use fifty quid notes to wipe their arses. It's a fair amount of money if you've not got a lot coming in.

What is 50 quid? I have 60 mm lowering springs already but I can't afford a set of 80 mm or 90 so I was looking to cut a littile bit

Maybe you should just keep the -60mm springs til you can afford some lower springs and why do you need to be lower anyway? Go too low and you can spoil the handling, although Vauxhall's aren't known for their handling anyway.
