Yes they range from 7-8.5k for good ones. Do a search on Autotrader for 3 door Imprezzas. and put p1 into the "key words" I only found this as a mate of mine is looking for one at the moment

It may slightly go over your 8k budget but you did say you may consider up to 10k

What is it with people dicking P1's? Pointless getting a cherished car like that for every day use. The classics are a bit old school anyway. I'd be looking at a blob or hawk with that money.
Whoever suggested an E36 is a berk
At this moment in time, with £10k, I'd personally buy an E46 M3. Running costs would be as bad as my STI tho, so probably wouldn't bother However much you like the car, it still hurts spending a small fortune on a service or a replacement that'd be a fraction of the cost in something like a Vauxhall.
With regards to Evo's, scooby's, it really doesn't matter if you drive like a saint, it'll still be shit mpg.

I think the running cost of a 10K M3 will be double the running cost of a Scoob, Colins wasnt cheap but look at his costs

Save another 5-6K and get an E46 M3.
