Discovery 3 everytime for me. Absolute winner for towing imo. Not discrediting any of the others shortlisted (bar cayenne), but the disco is the very best for that intended purpose.

For that money you can either have a fairly new Disco 3 or an older RR. I would guess the Disco will be less trouble.

Kev, with respect, he's after a Range Rover class car with a budget of £20k. I'm not clear that pictures of an old Vectra are relevant.

V10 Toureg. Did you not see the tree Clarkson pulled with it on Top Gear?
But tbh I don't think you can go wrong with a RR.

Yup, The Discovery3 we looked at today was a GS model, so quite low spec I think. They had what I presume was an HSE (but brand spankers) next to it with full leather etc. Looked pretty good, just not as refined as the RR's.

Fuck the mpg, just the fact you can run over anything in your way will do for me.

Farm I used to work on had a Navara and a Disco 3. Both were superb at towing, both were well equipped (sat nav, leather seats, hands free, auto). The Disco just edged it, was slightly more stable pulling larger loads.
