Ive gone else where today.

2 reasons,

1) i had a small bump on 29th june 2009 with someone and the claim is still going on and other than a few letters asking for witness info ( of which i provided 2) its still on going and i havent heard a word from you guys in maybe 6 months

2) Im insured with you at the moment and you quoted me 530, jumped on confused and admiral quoted 490.... i called you and chap said he couldnt believe it was that cheap and wanted my username and password for Confused.com to confirm! I called admiral and they got it down to 445 quite easy and thats with no claims bonus.

Im insured with Chris Knott. Beat my quote with FLUX by over £200. I pay just over 300 on the Gsi. Allways seem helpfull when I ring up.

Hi Rob
Regarding your points -

1.May i ask, have you explored as to why the delay? There is usually a justified reason and i am happy to find out if you can pm me your name & postcode please.

It is very rare anyone says anything against the claims service we have - just google our name and see all the feedback about us! I even have kept posts about how well claims are dealt with, including one today from the Performance C2 club! If there is ANYTHING we have not done our utmost then i am happy to hold up our hands & rectify but without trying to sound above ourselves, it rarely happens!

2.The second point is due to the fact that we are audited by the insurers on every case so we need proof when competing against quotes to make sure the policy is on a like for like basis, such as hidden compulsory excesses on internet sites.

The BBC did an article in May 2008 regarding certain questions about their use. A member told me recently that he'd tried 3 different comparison websites with the same insurer coming top on all three, but all at a different price!

Our insurers will not compete against comparison websites because of this.

We always recommend that once you have the top insurer on the comparison website, start a new quote on that insurers actual website rather than use the link from the comparison website. In this way, you will know that the insurers quote is correct in terms of premium, excess, etc.

Why don't you cover cars with cages - must be a reason?

Do you cover stripped out cars, buckets, harnesses but no cage?

It's simply that there is a high claims ratio for vehicles involving cages being involved in accidents!

Please don't ask me why but I suppose for the insurers, once bitten twice shy?

Thanks for the reply tim.

I didnt know you needed proof... just thought they guy was being funny.... fair enough on that one. In this case i did call admiral direct and its alot cheaper than the quote on Confused. What do i do about that?

TBH... ive been happy with your service for 2 years so would like to stay with you but to be honest the deciding factors in me selecting insurance is Cost and excess.

Id appreciate if you would do some digging for me, Ill send you a pm with my details

Thanks Rob

Hi
All Civic Type R's have a minimum age of 25 on our scheme including imports.

The insurers were paying £147 for every £100 they were taking in so they changed it to 25!

That's what I was thinking

Chris Knotts schemes are good for the majority of owners clubs.

Judging by your VXR constraints, I'm guessing that you can't insure me on an RX7 at 24? Worth asking though
