People who ride bikes are generally safer car drivers
Personnally, ban everyone under 28 imo. Ban the lot of you, your all bad drivers.
Fuck paying more than £1k insurance for anything at all now

I'm 23 and have never had an accident, never really came close either tbh. I'd consider myself as a capable driver. But can completely understand the reasoning for expensive/unavailable insurance for the younger drivers, from what i've seen on the roads in the last 6 years

I just really can't understand how I can be paying £360 on a Kawasaki Ninja 636 and paying near on £1400 on a Mazda 3. I just can't understand their theory behind the prices which is why I think everyone gets so annoyed with quotes as it's so inconsistent it's unbelievable.

Under 21 restriction would be more understandable, its not like its a 911 GT2. I dont see the beef
Andy Stocker and Ojc are 25+ are they not? Also A guy i was working with was in late twenties and had one.
I wonder what age group vauxhall targetted the Astra VXR at? I would have thought 25-30ish?
Surley the Corsa VXR falls in the 18-25 group?
I know sod all about car marketing tbh.

quote: But then the astra etc is aimed at that sort of age group! if you had a look at how many Audi RS6's or BMW M5's are written off each year, you may come to the conclusion that 40 year old bankers are the most dangerous drivers in the universe!
Thats a very good point. Fat cats with big bank balances and fuck all sense or driving ability probably.

im guessing this thread was possibly made due to my enquiries about the Ek9? ive been quoted just under 1200 a year. thats with only using it at weekends hence why i put low average miles. company car during the week. i was asking him if they will insure them for under 25 as i may have gotten it cheaper. some companies do insure under 25's and some dont. not the end of the world

Not made due to your EK9 enquiry mate, just in general to a host of comments tbh.

The guy said any VXR Sethery, so includes the Corsa.
Im fairly certain Vauxhall wasnt targeting anyone over 25 with that car tbh.

He's paying 4K precisely because he IS a dangerous driver for fuck's sake. 18 points?
The majority of mates I have that are young rag their cars about all over. Insurance is high for young people because they fucking crash all the time. Hardly rocket science.

LOL yeah a guy at my works got one, hes around 21-22. He told me M3's are for homo's
I just think not insuring under 25's is loosing a huge part of the market thats all, I dont particularly care though
For the record I was accident free up to 25 & had my 1st accident then.

I crashed within 2 weeks of passing my test, driving like a cock. I was 17 years old and i hold my hands up and admit the errors of my way. Have never had an accident or near miss at all since then, good job I learnt my lesson early i think.
Colin if you ran an insurance company and took on that part of the market you would undoubtedly be out of business within a year due to huge losses. Maybe the companies that do offer it to under 25`s have business models that can cope with it and are part of a large corporation etc and/or charge the absolute earth for it. Im betting they still make a small loss in this area but accept it for the market share.

Its a discussion, doesnt have to have a point or an end goal and its brought up some good points
didnt want to put it on the chris knott insurance thread and ruin it.

The bike costs less to replace and also won't damage other stuff like a car would. I've no access to the figures but I would think the average cost to claim will be lower when you consider damage to other vehicles and property.
