It's not genuine. It's been painted, it's been played with, it has no history.

I could understand a low mileage unmolested example with FSH but this doesn't have the history (so why the bloody box etc needed painting I don't know?) so the mileage you can discount straight away. It is a 'spruced up' example if it has had a full re-spray (I thought the previous female owner was careful?).

I believe in buying on condition and I would far rather have a MINT orginal car as a starting point than a resprayed and potentially suspect car as a starting point.

I will give you that then, I just looked at the general over-view on the listing details and spotted it had nothing listed against service history.

It's still overpriced by about 50% IMO.

the thing is, how easy would it be to put back to near standard, original wheels/suspension and would make a healthy profit too!

Deffo worth it, it would cost that to get it in that condition

I have no qualms about buying a low mileage car, I can understand why people have though. I bought a car the same year as that Corsa last year on 7k miles, it was and still is genuinely MINT with every document to back it up. Owned and garaged by a 90 year old woman from new, the radio had never been coded in, the aerial never fitted, seat covers from new. It was a bonafide time-warp car and I paid a premium for it. I wouldn't have paid half as much if it had been fully re-sprayed. Something really doesn't stack up with this car IMO.

200 miles in 18 months? Modified?

My Corsa had less than 500 miles between MOTs when I was using it. Just an occasional car.

I can afford 4 or 5 of them easily at that price, I just wouldn't pay that for a re-sprayed GSI. That's all it is at the end of the day, a GSI with a re-paint.

It's not as if the Corsa GSi will ever go down in history as a corner-stone of hot hatch motoring is it? Hmmm...mint Series 1 RS Turbo, Renault 5 Turbo or 205 GTi with that mileage, with history and WITHOUT a re-paint would be worth FAR more, especially the S1 RST!

not really, dont have to have the money to have an opinion, opinions are free fortunately. Just like the free wet wipes you get with your KFC meal.

True.

Especially on a 94 plate which could have been made with the pistons too small!

Its already rare!

It disappoints me that I didn't find a few nice examples a few years ago and get them stored. One in each colour.

There would have been far better investments, especially when you factor in storage costs and the price of buying a mint example. I would go as far as to say you would have lost money.

£8k for a 16 year old Corsa? You can get a new one for that!
