I'm just not going to drive it (unless I have to) till next Thursday when I get the track rod done, then go straight to the tracking place afterwards.

Fun? That's not quite the word I'd use

Well it was all booked in for new track rod arm to be fitted today and then I planned to take it to get the tracking and balancing sorted properly, but those plans went out the window at 7.30am with a phone call to say they won't be able to fit me in till Monday Annoying as I also kept the day free of bookings.

Anywho, spent all of 10 minutes slicing my wrists to hell fitting a new grille courtesy of Mr Skater:

Done for 2 reasons - main one being that I broke the other one whilst getting pissed off with the car during last months thermostat issues (and it was already broken anyway) and also because it's part of my slightly back to standard / sleeper look I'm going for.

Not entirely sure on it yet though - is the only bit of chrome on the car and now stands out a bit too much! Thinking chrome griffins on the centre caps will do the trick

Can't be doing with painting the V - did that on my old C and it just stone chips too quickly

If I don't grow to like this I'll get another badgeless one, at least you can't release my bonnet without using the catch now anyway

So is Jamie (Shrek) working as a mechanic for Tom now? or just doing the odd job here and there for friends and using Toms place as a workshop?

Cheers chaps.

Dale - My mate said about plates too Hmmm maybe...

Neil - Cheers mate I have thought about the bumpers, but tbh I don't want to spend much more money on the car - worked out the other day that so far I've spent £1 per mile I've driven it fixing it + fuel costs (so over £1100 atm!!) TBH if anything else major happens I'll be seriously considering selling / splitting.

Wooly - Cheers mate. yeh I noticed it has more plastic behind it so hopefully it'll keep the bay a bit tidier - seems to get dirty so quickly atm!

Vague future plans for it once the tracking issue is finally sorted:

Full new exhaust system with new tip and generally quieter - had enough of how loud it is
Refurb wheels either in silver or same colour as arches, but with chrome griffins
Give full machine polish to remove swirls, marring etc

New track rod arm finally fitted to the drivers side today after much delay and 2 cancelled appointments

Also fitted a small Vibe sub which I got from a mate for peanuts and wired it in this morning - I was missing the punch from bass too much

Also ordered some Eibach EZ Camber bolts for the front as there is a lot more camber since fitting the B10 set up than there was on the old FK's. Hopefully they will arrive Wednesday when the car is going to be laser tracked and all the wheels balanced. Fingers crossed the car will be driveable by the end of the week again!

Exhaust is starting to blow again though, so looks like that will be next on the list to replace properly this time!

I've spent around £1100 on it so far, new exhaust will take it up to around £1500

Was pretty thorough checking it out before purchasing it too - but it's all been things that weren't immediately obvious tbh.

Put it this way, by the time I'm finished with it, it'll be in far better shape mechanically, paintwork will be ok too as I just need to find time to give it a good day or two's worth of detailing.

It's likely to be up for sale come end of show season anyway - not because of the issues I've had, but because I need to start saving money to move out, and want to upgrade the van. So will sell this and my current van, get a new van then sit on the rest of the money and knuckle down saving.

Should have this all running sweet as a nut for the next owner, and hopefully in time for me to enjoy it over show season at least

Well that's one more thing ticked off the list at least...

Tracking is finally sorted, car now steers in a straight line with the steering wheel in the right place, opposed to this! :

Certainly rides a lot better on the Bilstein set up, felt good round roundabouts etc on the way home.

Eibach camber bolts also turned up today but my tracking guy didn't have time to fit them He also said that I may find the wheels will scrub anyway if he adjusts the camber due to how low it sits at the front. It isn't so bad now the tracking's right anyway tbh. So I'll sit on those and wait and see!

Pics to come when I find time to clean the car and can be bothered to get some pics!

Next up, exhaust seeing as this one is blowing.
