Ok so a conclusion we could draw from this thread is that is possible to consistently detect sarcasm from text providing you know the person reasonably well?

Apparently I'm more German than some German people here. Like my ability to arrive somewhere on time. They even laughed when I folded my scarf into a neat square when I arrived at work one day.
I also uphold the traditional values of intimidation and threats of violence to foreigners though.
