OK, I'll wait for another thread where a 106 has crashed then, where someone has not died.

Sorry.

I use saxperience, and reading his threads, he seemed like a decent fella.
Apparently the car (which can be found on rallye reg) had shock absorber problems before the test drive and looked abit rough, but the owner assured them the car was ok.
Then this happened ...
For those interested, theres a large thread on saxperience about it.
RIP.

100mph on country roads? Jesus. I've gone over the limit many times in my life, but 100mph on a country road? Fuck that shizzle.

RIP etc...

It is just a sad story, regardless of who's fault it is, and what might of happened. The fact two people died is a tragedy. It just makes me value my life, and drive slower too.

Sad story particularly as the lad probably was too shy to say anything or overestimated the abilities of the driver and the car.

Every time I hear a story like this I wonder how long it'll be before CS suffers something like it and I hope the heartless jokers are sufficiently distanced at that time to not be guilty for ridiculing someone elses death today.

This is not robbers on quads, this is a young car enthusiast who trusted a stranger a bit too much.

A mate of mine was killed in similar circumstances, taken out for a test drive in a saxo vtr and the driver crashed killing my mate (passanger) but surviving himself.

Surely it's not a country road with parked cars, and a house in the back ground. Poor lad.

There was a 16v in that.

Mate told me about this yesterday, really sad. Some fucking gay comments in here though.

I was reading the topic on saxperience, apparently there was something wrong with the rear suspension but the person that was selling it, said it was all fine.

Also it wasnt his dream car like the papers say, he had already owned 2 106's and by the looks of it a civic type r aswel

Yep owned a civic type r

I knew him through civictype-r.co.uk

Used to keep up to date with each others threads as we both had milano red type r's and the same name

Was a sound guy

Biggest shame was that the car had turned out to be a bit of a shed as stated and he wasnt interested. But the owner convinced him to go on a test drive with him anyway

RIP mate

iirc, going by the thread on sax-p, it was for his mate.
He was planning to get an evo, as his insurance had come down with him turning 21.
I guess these 2 stories may have got confused by the papers etc.

I know someone who px'ed his STi Type R for a skyline R32 (when the R32's were only a couple of years old and were just starting to find there way over here) and a few weeks later the owner of the garage and a customer test driving the STi wrapped it around a tree and both died.

Spooky looking at the pm's I have in my inbox from him now

Cannot justify what a sound bloke he came accross as. Wish I had got to meet him in person

feel sorry for his dad too as he has now lost two loved ones in such a short space of time
