the vr6 has a timing chain which techincally never needs to be changed but if one of the tensioners begins to fail, the chain will make a slapping noise which will only get louder and louder before it gives in. The downside of getting the chains and tensioners replaced is its a gearbox off job and you're better off changing the clutch at the same time ££££. Fortunately you hear of vr6 engines pulling strong at 200k with the original timing chains

having owned a puma, i would recomend one if you a short arse with no friends!
Best all around car for fuel consumption, handling, speed etc.
Only other car ive had real experience with is the coupe (close friend has one). Again not much room, boost it and it drinks stupid amounts of fuel, will cost you about double to insure than a puma if not more, everything is just more!
More speed, more fuel, more money. But they dont handle well in my experience.

1) New is £175 from Fiat (and that's the cheaper version!) I've been trying to source a second hand one all day. The garage couldn't find anything and nothing on ebay or the Punto forum atm
2) & 3) Yes, should be £30 max to get that sorted
4) It's the entire fuelling system, which has been bodged before. It's beyond repair any further... £550 from Fiat. There's one on ebay for a lesser model which I might be able to adapt to fit however. Looking at around £150 for the second hand one plus fitting.
5) Have no idea on the cost of this!

So there are NO Puntos atall in any of your local scrapyards?
If there are, rob the bits.
Hazard switch - get one from another - GT's won't have their own special hazard switch!
The MOT fail sheet says the Fuel Filler Pipe is the problem, fix that - surely the Filling pipe is common across the range, again, can't see that part being exclusive to the GT
Parking Brake efficiency means your Handbrake needs adjusting - simple.
The washer jets are the cheapest, unless the pump is gone. You can clean the jets and hoses for free.
I'm really struggling to see how this is such an 'Epic' Fail...
I've had worse fail sheets than that in the past and just sorted it for next to nothing.
