That's the only current engine I can think it would be.

Alloy block and head, turbo at the back, seems the most likely culprit.

You can reverse the head and change the intake and outlet port sides too.

throttle boddies at the front usually with a more direct exhaust gas route of escape, however in this case?
i havent a clue, maybe wieght distrobtion of the turbo etc?
