Cheers I'm in the process of gathering parts at the moment and keep changing my mind about how I want it to look LOL. The welding is nearly all done now, then starts the bodywork!
There are loads of little dints and stone chips on it and if I'm going to get it resprayed then they all need sorting out or they will stick out like s ore thumb.
The bottom of the drivers door is rotting too, I did get another door but it is no better, so I'm collecting another one now, hopefully this weekend. Trying to find rust-free straight panels for a car this age is a bit of a nightmare
I've decided against these wheels now too, and have some others on the way...

Just a quick update:

Got some new bits on the car now:
headlights
front bumper
gsi wheels

Wheels still need refurbing but I needed to get them on the car, the alloys that were on the back in the previous photos are now up for sale, one has some damage but I only want £20 for them...

When I tried to fit my lexus lights it all went tits up. one side worked fine, the other - the indicator light came on instead of the tail light... think the wiring may need looking at, however the standard lights work fine... and when I swapped the working lexus over it did the same thing, so i don't know what is going on...

I've got a spare set of clocks and heater controls so i'm going to attempt to do the LED conversion.... fingers crossed LOL

sorry for the crap photos, I'll get some better ones next time

lol purple roof was put in the same day i got it off you

The lights are DIY depos, just looks a bit odd because of the angle, you can just see the shadow of the black behind the glass, looks alright head on

nope it's still going pink, The only black bits are the bumpers and arches anyway and the rear bumper still needs replacing ( the bonnet is purple, not black)

saxo_tom - the spoiler is knackered LOL got a new bootlid on it now
Sonny - I've not taken any recent photos but the lights are on the car now.
There's been quite a lot done actually since these photos, but then the engine blew on the way up to AndyC's to pick up a new tailgate, so the car had to be recvoered to my mate's unit in Wilmslow.
I've got new engine to put in, which my fella is going to do, but he has an eye condition which has flared up and he is blind at the moment.
SO, the car is in wilmslow, new engine is in Mossley, boyfriend is in bed with an eye patch on and I'm stuck with no transport again LOL
I'm hoping to go and take the new engine to the car today, so I'll try and get some photos of how it looks now.
Until I can get the engine in I'll be spending time sanding and prepping a new set of bumpers and interior plastics....

er no not any more LOL got some tinted standards coming for now....

UPDATE:
So, you know when you just have one of those weeks? when nothing goes right?? that was my week this week.
It started last Sunday, when I was on my way to collect a bootlid from AndyC.
my car died on the M61 with no notice, no bang, no smoke,no fuss, it just stopped.
After waiting for around 2 hours on the motorway my friend came and towed us off (AndyC kindly met us just off the sliproad to get the bootlid)
After a bit of investigation it was found that the bolt in the end of the camshaft has sheared, oops, seeing as it is an interference engine I decided to not risk wasting time and money on stripping it and to get a new one.
After a couple of days scouring ebay, forums and scrap yards, I found a 1.2 8 valve at a local breakers fo £75 with a months guarantee.
Now, I know most of you are going to think I'm mad for putting another 1.2 in it, but I've got 12 points and my insurance is sky high until some of them come off (October this year).
Numerous other shitty things have happened this week which has meant I spent a great chunk of the week in hospitals, but eventually, today, we managed to get to work on the car....

The offending bolt:

new engine waiting to go in:

oh, the new wing on too, and primed:

old engine coming out:

there's a hole.....

new bootlid on:

who says girls don't get their hands dirty??

I've put a 1.2 back in it, because I have 12 points on my licence and can't afford to insure anything bigger right now. I love your bumper, but I can't afford it at the mo, I've just bought a GSI bumper but it needs work, so it was cheap....
