a vectra vxr was 30k new. They now sell for 15k. So if that cost 250k then 30k is a bargain. Its also got scene camber and scene stance so should appeal to all chavs

ITS A RACING CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This would compete in thunder saloons etc.

You should check it out, all the old touring cars, plus others of similar spec all racing together.

Sorry Mr Ferrari.

I don't want to buy your £1million 2006 Formula 1 car. Its old, and it hasn't got tax and an MOT and I can't drive it on the road.... Nor do I get to even have it in my own garage.

Current BTCC cars with their heavily restricted configuration cost £250,000+ to build.... NON manufacture teams...

Now go back to the manufacture days, when budgets of millions £££ per season were implemented and it was much more open as to what they could do.

A lowered car won't do that bad neck any favours....

But its ok, as yours is comfy.

Even our astra suspension is firm as standard, so damn you vauxhall for not using budget coilovers that are decked to the max, as that obviously gives a more comfy ride

How do you get a c20xe to 290bhp??

Is it just mega high profile cams, lots of headwork, management and t.bs? Still 1998cc?

It's a race ready car. It's obvious that not many people have been to things like the london motorsport show and seen how much cars like this go for. It's actually very cheap for something you could buy today and race at the weekend.

They've actually seen a recorded 315bhp, but god knows what the factory teams really had out of them. Oval pistons, reverse head etc etc..

Its a serious amount of work, but think mega specc'ed cams (not good for road as lifeless below 4000rpm probably), pocketted pistons, mega everything internally. I doubt anything would be actually from teh original engine tbh.

I would say high comp slipper piston probably play a part. I rember Brad telling me about Mansells former Mondeo Touring car. They had to warm the block up as it was effectively siezed when cold.

if it was priced at 2k or under like vectra super touring go for would stand a better chance of selling. Remember kids. Mods dont add value. That will have been thrashed to fuck. Better off buying a vectra 1.8 off an old lady and spend the change on some lowering springs.

F1 engines are similar in the way that they need to be warmed up before they are fired up. Impressive stuff that they can build an engine to those tolerances and get to work (most of the time!)
