About 2.5 hours if you have the right tools, VAG cam locking stuff is essential, makes it so much easier, Sealey do it cheaper than VAG.

I'll give you £20 and a pack of chocolate hob nobs to do it for me coz I really can't be arsed.

They are really good lads, a couple of my mates work for them, Neil and Marc?

They did my dash pod under warranty when it fooked up!

Do you think that list of stuff will be fine? (any idea of rough cost?)

Brake Pads + Brake fluid
Haldex Oil Change + Filter
Cam Belt + Water Pump
Gearbox oil
Spark plugs

I can give you the prices I would have quoted at the last job

£189 for discs and pads (would have been aftermarket, like Delphi)
£99 for Haldex oil and filter
£295 for cam belt and water pump
£59 for gear oil
£165 for a major service (oil and filter, air filter, pollen filter and plugs)

Most places (other than dealers) won't be far off that.

Just remember that's a worst case if nothing has been done, get them to check the service book, they'll be able to tell you what has and hasn't been carried out

Try adding an extra 1.5 hours onto that.
No specialist tools needed either.

If it was the 1.8t from a ibiza/golf etc the yeah i would say 2.5h.

Ps, i did mine on the drive Joe..i was a pig, the next week i did one on a TT in work..was a lot easier with ramps.

Question guys: I did a full service on my 1.8T in Feb at 80K last year and a oil change in Sept at 90K last year, when should my next service be?

Should I wait until the service light comes up at 100K or service before?

PS - I dont have an offical manual and its annoying, only have a crappy replacement one!!

Yeah got ramps and all the tools and shit at work, I'm just a lazy cunt and detest doing work on my own cars.

Theres a really easy way to change the haldex on a TT that doesnt involve any special tools, just the oil and a hammer

Why would VAG not help with diag equipment? We have a fully up to date 5051 supplied by VAG

He did too, but they refused to connect it to allow for the online updates, same with us, we couldn't get it online, but if you're in Germany, VAG are more than willing. (5052a btw)
