Its electrical at the end of the day It's bound to fuck up just like anyother electrical goods. What I'd do if I had an Xbox is ring up Microsoft and tell them to sort it out. Haggle to your hearts content.

Care to ask how much? You could just get a cheap core off ebay and put your Hard drive on it [if you aren't using HDMI]. I bet you could get a cheap 2nd hand one from gamestation with a hardrive and the HDMI port for about £110.

Now, at this point you may say that the PS3 is more reliable out of the two given the above however, my PS3 is used on average one hour per week (52 hours per year) which is pitiful compared to my xbox which is used 8-10 hours a week (416-520 hours per year). So you could say that my xbox is used 10 times more than my PS3 and its a year older.
If I had a Wii it would get played on even less... thus making it very unlikely that I would encounter an issue with it.
I would be pissed off if I rarely used the xbox and it broke on several occasions, but its probably the most used electronic items in my household (other than the TV which I use to play it on lol). Unfortunately, the RROD is related to overheating and xbox's (the early versions) inability to cope with this... which is a git as the more you use the xbox the more likely it is prone to overheating - there is no coincidence that both of my RROD have come after the 2nd-3rd week of Modern Warfare came out - my first RROD was after 3 weeks of MW1 coming out, my second RROD came over 2 weeks of MW2 being release - on both occasions I was clocking up ridiculous amounts of game time.
If you had three cars, but drove 10 times the distance in the one car than the others... which car are you more likely to have issues with? *que the 'it depends on what the other two cars are lol
Now this may have gone off-topic, but hey... its a Saturday, and I have nothing else to do other than chill on CS or play the Xbox - which I wont do yet as my gaming thumb is sore  lol ..
For those who have the Wii, how often do you spend playing on it compared to other consoles?
