i suspected they might try that, my response to that will be a trained roadside technician who came out, who was actually an ex ford technician checked all connections and fitment of ignition parts, including the coilpack and confirmed that was all fitted correctly and should they wish to speak to him they can contact him on xxxxx greenflag number. I shall also ask them to explain how a solid state distributorless ignition coilpack would get broken by undoing 4 bolts and plugging four rubber ignition leads into it

tbh I have no idea how a brand new part can not be working. Epic fail

[edit]. in fact, don't most electrical things get tested before being sold?

I found the letter a bit waffly. Could probably be reduced in verbosity but still be clear on your position.

f.ing ford. Took the coilpack back to ford in horsham and he goes "its a warranty repair part you have to buy another fill out a form and we send it away, if it comes back faulty wel refund you" i said, wtf can i do this at any ford cus i live 150miles away. They said no has to be done here. After an argument and me showing them the receipt from rsm replacing the coilpack they eventually give me a refund

good news, got a letter through from Ford in Horsham today with a cheque for £254

this was after Ford UK, told me twice that they werent prepared to give me anything even after I told them about trading standards said they were legally expected to reimburse consequential costs.
