he wasn't trying or you pulled away before he thought you was racing him... once you have a fair distance it takes alot of power to catch right up.

He's told us what was done on page 1. His is probably about 120-125bhp, same as a good standard gti engine.

or hes a rubbish driver, i think the correct statement is both cars, given, should be fairly equal however on this occasion for whatever reason, he managed to get past in his corsa

Thats becuase it has a full exhaust, inlet manifold etc....

It would be..... Corsa inlet is one of the most longest and restrictive car inlets ever designed!

Methinks theres a little pokie pie being told in terms of the actual pace when going past

I nailed a Porkie the other day. He see me a comin, knocked it down a gear, but me being a fro shizzle driver, meant i iz already on da gas n passed him. I gave it sum and brake bruv n went past him goin bakwards.

Then i put the xbox controller down as dinner was ready.

the general understanding is you need a good 100bhp advantage to pass anything at any kind of pace

unless your vehicles can travel at the speed of light, because speed of light theory is if something is travelling at 98% the speed of light, and you are travelling at 100% speed of light you catch up and pass it as quickly as if it was travelling at 0.0003% the speed of light

Let's be honest though..... Due to age, and wear/tear do you seriously think a 10 year old car such as the 106 GTi is going to be running 120bhp in standard form?

A friend of mine owns a saxo vts which as most of you know is pretty much exactly the same as a 106 gti... I let him take mine out for a spin and he said mine handled and went a lot better than his vts (mine only has an intake / catback)... - I remember when I used to have my old corsa I had a blast with his vts and it wasn't too far off!
