top gear = nonsense for people who are 'car posers'.
I guarentee you put 90% of top gear fans on a race track and they'll spin off into a ditch within 5 laps.

I can't wait to meat you Paul in a couple of weeks time.
Did Adi tell you I saw him in Reading the other day in the petrol station? He smashed the 350Z down the road sounded awesome.
Is he ok?

Top Gear is entertainment though. If they made something properly geeky I'd die of boredom.
The moment you start taking it seriously is when you miss the point.

i dont watch it for anything other than entertainment. I wouldnt want to watch a geek show about how many degrees of advance is possible with different ron of fuel.

What top gears says goes tbh
if they say a car isn't cool, then your car isn't cool, if they say it is then its cool.
i think because they don't like vauxhalls is why Ollie hates them
Hammond said the corrado was really cool and properly quick, even by todays standards, so i bought one

i think paul j actually meant 99 percent of people that drive on the road dont care about lap times or ring times. That would be far more accurate. Some people just have cars they like to go to shops and work and back. Top gear is entertainment. Shaving 0.5 of a second off a lap time seems irrelevant to me driving to work.

agreed, where i live roads are mainly straight and any racing is usually between lights or whatever, I have never even driven on a track.

Oh and suprise suprise, Top Gear rigging road tests to suit the highest bidder once again.
A farce of a TV show.
Brilliant.
I laughed myself silly as the pretty car stole a march on the ugly one when this was originally broadcast.
I was convinced yonks ago that eventually someone would have to have a tear up with one of each and knew it was guaranteed that the F1 would tear the passat a new one.
I remember wondering how much road the ugly thing must have actually needed to catch up with the F1 and how much editing took place to show it in a reasonable light.
Tee hee
