Looks how I want it to as standard and now with the remap it performs how I want it to. So yeah I'm happy with my car.

But you have done it right really, you have kept the car long enough and as you say over the period of time it's very little money overall, plus it's your hobby.

I never keep my cars long!

If money is no problem, then yeah I could be. But working to a budget there will always be something you could of bought that was a bit 'nicer'

well not much of what i have done is corsa specific so it being a corsa has not cost me a lot. I am just wondering what point people think they are happy enough and stop. Colin says its spending more than its value. I have no issue with that. I cant see when or why i would give up. Its not that i am not happy. Its just i can see lots of things i want to do and more than likely will.

Yeah the money you spend is mostly on the engine which I fully believe you'll carry over to the next car. Which will hopefully be RWD!!

This guy with the M3 im on about is already talking about selling it & getting something else.

I dont keep cars long enough to justify spending on them, think the longest been 18 months.

Not so much more than its value, its more right I need to spend x-amount to get it how I want it, however it wont make me want to keep it longer than I will, & i'll not see what I put down back.

Plus ive also got other things going on that commands the cash before I can slap it on my car!! But even if I didnt....im not sure I would!!

If that makes sense!!

surely changing so often means you have not found a car you are actually happy with? If you had something you really were happy with would money be an issue? Whats the difference between spending 100 percent of value doing up a house compared to a car?

Possibly, or I just like change I dunno. My last 3-4 cars before this one have very much been cheap, free or bought to suit my requirements.

That ones simple, I spend much more time in my house, plus they generally go up in value so I can easier justify it.

I was happy with mine, yet i made some minor changes (wired up the standard HU to accept mp3 player, and wired up the mirrors so they fold on their own) I am happy with it as it stands now but there is a list of things I would like to do but cannot really justify needing/spending money on them.

I was most happy when I bought my car.

It was only when I found this place that I wanted to do more to it

I am happy with my bike. No plans to sell for a long time.

i wonder if it depends on what you do with it that means you can get to a point where you are happy?

I enjoyed tinkering with my car, but too many setbacks brought me back down.

Put new Audio system in.
Find cheap amp doesn't work with high end speakers, and blew them, twice

took red sidestripes off, paint had faded white underneath

Waited 3 months to get car back after rolling down drive, constent hassle, only to find a huge buffer scratch which would need a whol side car respray

Put engine in, wiring loom caught fire

Always something to break my heart. Theres loads more instances.

That said, when I got the car, the oil pump had a paper gasket which pissed oil everywhere. Replacement part was metal. So it was a downer from day 1.

Social life rocked though That made a lot of us happy, even if the cars hacked us off

Was happy with my Corsa tbh. I had done everything I'd ever wanted to do to it and it was reliable. I only got rid as I want something more powerful.

I like my car at the moment. I really don't like it when the weather is shite as it leaks, mists up inside, smells... plus the rear arches are starting to rust and its done 125k.

But... Its fantastic fun in the dry and goes where-ever you aim it
