I tend to find even if it is 3 days past the use by its still fine - for me anyway.
Same with yoghurts, Ive eaten one that was 2 weeks out of date, tasted the same as the other one that was in date. Its all a bit nannying the use-by's on some stuff

Nope, I'm the exact same. I have a tendency to smell most of my food etc I'm a strange creature.

Don't really smell milk unless it close or past its date, but likewise i sniff/smell food before it hits my mouth, not sure why but i've done it since i was little (few months old according to the parents)

At home I don't but on Monday mornings at work I always do. It's usually been open over the weekend so want to be sure It's normally alright though.
Other than that it goes straight in the cuppa/on the crunchy nut/other cereals.
I have barely any milk in my tea anyway so even if it was off I probably wouldn't notice

Never look at the date or smell it because I know how old it is as we go through a lot of it so its never over a few days old.

there is nothing worse than going for a drink of milk to discover its passed its use by date too late to do anything about it.

Im starting to have visions of drinking gone off, lumpy milk, I usually just take a swag from whatever bottle is open in the fridge.
