It is possible that you misunderstood what I meant by my first post. I called my insurance with his number plate, they called his insurance for me and his insurance contacted him to see if this is true. He then admitted fault and his insurance paid out. What I mean by my first post is that if you have his number plate your insurance will get in contact with his to try and resolve the issure with no hassle.
If you claim off your own insurance then yes your premium will go up and will make you out of pocket a bit.

The girlfriend had a crash in Swiss and the police there also did nothing. They just make sure you get details off each other and want that you sort it out yourself. Same as in UK.

Well that just seems wrong to me, premium should never be affected if you are not at fault. Also if the other party has admitted fault, really doesn't seem right. I agree that is a farse.
Seems pointless having insurance then.

Ben and Pow are right. I've had two non fault accidents and claimed for both on the other parties insurance and its was bumping my quotes up £300-400

Non fault claims can cause your premium to go up because you are more likely to have an accident from an insurers point of view. which would mean you could potentially cost them money so they take more from you just in case.
It is ridiculous but is the way it can go as we have to be insured legally.
would be much better if they charged the extra but refunded it if you had a clean year.

I refuse to allow someone crashing into me to make my insurance go up, never had an issue with doing so

right now.
blue astra vxr 06 plate
£1267 with 1 accident declared (non fault)
£1093 with no accidents
would be cheaper with specialist companies.

Why declare the accident though? It's not your fault, how can they justify putting your insurance up! It's utter ballshit.
I thought you were trying to be sensible with cars Ben?

i am, not getting a nice car just yet.
just can't drive the puma to work and back on the A13 as in 5th gear at 70mph i can't hear anything else other than the engine revving it's nuts off
it's only 10 miles from my new house to my work aswell so petrol is no big deal.

By declaring this non fault accident it makes them think its through your insurance, like say you claimed because you came out and your car was smashed

As long as you have the cunts number plate, you can ring your insurance up and they should be able to shove his reg number in there database and it will come up with which insurance company the number plate is logged to, and also the owner of the vehicle, address etc

Non fault claim could mean you hit ice, a deer, someone hit you, your car was stolen etc etc...

When declaring a claim in my eyes you only declare it if your insurance were the ones paying out

even if you dont declare the acciden onn renewels your name will flag up as having a non fault claim its what the insurance database is for i didnt even go through my insurance company when my clio was hit and i wasnt even in the car the car was parked outside my house and my neighbour reversed off his drive and then come told me my insurane wwnt up by £100 becasue if this because basically statisticaly you are more likely to have an at fault claim its all bollocks really its juts a stealth insurance tax in my eyes
