S3's are slow compared to a VXR. S3 has less power and 4wd transmission loss.

I was going to comment but felt I'd get abuse for it... But an S3 struggled to pull away from my XE and was only a couple of car lengths ahead until silly speeds. But a VXR dicked all over me from 90-130+

swirl flaps going, either rod comes off or they leak boost

egr valves stick

rattley dual mass flywheels

early ones had back conection woth no.3 injector and req new loom (no common tho)

seen a few seized water pumps, apart from that the actual engine is bullet proof

Love them in silver personally, white is epic but they only made 1 iirc

I had a 5 door CDTI 150 XP which was boxed and rollered 201bhp. It was a great car. £ for £ equally as good as my VXR.
