What happened was I removed then remmember to clamp the piston back , but I'd pressed the brake pedal already, so when I went to clamp the piston back in some brake fluid came out the rubber seal, I'm hoping this doesn't mean I need a new caiper?

A little tip! Next time use a large flat head screwdriver to lever the caliper (before you remove it) against the disc through the hole in the top.. The caliper slides on its carrier so if you lever between the disc and the pads the piston will return back into the caliper.

Shouldnt be leaking, seals may have one.

All you hand people are lucky, I've had to use windback tools when I did some VAGS

lever it back with a breakers bar, thats what i did, on the mondeo the rear pistons have to be turned in and not just pushed manually.

I always do it by hand - I also crack the seal of the reservoir cap before i push the pistons back.

Never had an issue doing it like this myself.
