They sure do. They are gorgeous cars and a small price of me somewhere wishes I hadn't sold mine as it was the most imaculate fault free car I have ever owned. It's horses for courses at the end of the day so fill ya boots.
But I won't say I told you so

Selling mine too.
Well provisionaly sold.
Removing all modded parts and returning to standard first though.
Good cars, but after 300bhp it's a lot of money to chase power, thats pretty much the only reason I'm getting rid of mine.
Think I'll keep the wheels though I fancy 5-studding A mk3 astra LET

Dunno what it is with the GSi that makes the steering feel lifeless but it is, thats not to say it's not a good handling car and even better once upgrades have been applied.
I would deffo go for a Coupe, I think NovaNeils one is gorgeous and SpanishGuys

It did frosty yeah.
I bought the flanges and manifold off ebay and got my dad to weld it.
Saw a good profit on it, I was maybe thinking about making 5/10 and selling them on, but people can do the work themselves it's pretty straight forward.

there not quick but one thing i found strange the other day i was playing with an st on the m45 near dunchurch (midlands), and we both came off a roundabout roughly 40mph up to 120mph and the gap between us stayed the same so dont know what to say there, and it was the whole hog orange st... and yes he was ragging it as his exhaust smelt like last nights eggs lol
im goin to disgree with what some say ive owned mine for 3 years now and it has been extremely reliable, most reliable car ive owned by a mile............. my standard turbo is even still goin strong at 62k miles...
i would also say yes it maybe abit boring to drive but people like jambo you have to take into account he has owned an m3 which im sorry is a far superior car so the astra gsi will always be in its shadows....
you have owned a st from new which will have felt new and refined you wont get this from a second hand gsi, ive owned a puma and i thought that was rubbish well not rubbish but i thought it felt slow and revved to slow but that just me.
my astra got 38mpg on a 500 mile trip last year, and gets around 27-28 round town if you drive like an adult and not 17 year old so fuel aint that bad..... not when you consider a 1.8 mondeo only hits mid 30's mpg on the run with 80 odd bhp less
so to sum up.... for me......
extremely reliable (for me)
seats are very comfortable
reasonable performance
fantastic looks
not bad to run my cambelt/tensioners and water pump was only 269 quid at a vauxhall dealer
not the best handler but ive driven alot worse
more room than ur current puma inside
good stereo
not a bad car

Thank you
My 2 pennies worth....
I got mine with just a suspension kit on it and i'll be honest, although it gripped well and had good high speed stability it was a little dull / numb through the steering...
However, mines now fitted with a host of Whiteline products & it is totally transformed! Both on the road and track. Very impressed!
So yes they are not the best handling car (in terms of driver fun) as standard. But are more than capable and enjoyable with money spent in the right places.
Cheers,
Neil

I've always loved their looks, raced a friend of mine who has one and he pulled away from me initially (I was in 3rd doing 40mph - I swear he was in 2nd because he boosted off and changed gear although he swears he was in 3rd ) Arden blue is undoubtedly the best colour for these cars though...

good solid car, quite good mpg. i havnt looked at prices for a while now so cant comment on it. I would rather a gsi over a coupe anyday. If you one of these people that take the3ir car to the limit all the time and care how many seconds you can shave off in the corners i would leave it. If youre after a refined ar that will do everything day to day and occasionally give it some stick, you cant go wrong.
