1.2 8v's come with 4 speed occasionaly.

Theres a lot of basic questions that could be asked as to why you really thought it was a 4 speed but i wont bother.

How long have you had the car and been driving it like that??

the fact that you went to all that trouble finding out that it was actually 'cypress green metallic' but didn't think twice about it being a 1.4 16v 4 speed is actually astonishing

The lad told him when he bought it that he had got a box fitted which had turned out to be a 4 speed, probably just spouted pish to get a sale.
Was an easy fix only took about an hour all in including pishtalk banter etc.

Thanks for sticking up for me archie

To clear things up

The guy I bought the car from told me there was a 4 speed fitted (YES CORSA's COME WITH THEM BUT I DIDNT JUST THINK MY SPORT WAS A 4 SPEED FROM FACTORY)

he offered to wait until he had a 5 speed fitted but I needed the car there and then so he gave me money off the price of the car

Jake: it is possible to change boxes

Mark: I had no reason to think otherwise without checking (but I wouldnt have known what to check for), It did have a 5 speed knob but that wouldnt prove anything, gearing seemed like a 4 speed (my 1.2 8v was 4speed)

Mertin: The guy was clearly an arsehole

Aron: Finding out the colour requires looking at the clearly visable paint code and looking it up and a 1.4 16v with a 4 speed box wouldnt be impossible, stupid but not impossible

He copied me on the discovery that cypress green mica is different to rio verde.

I did not think it was a 4 speed as standard mate, the guy told me he had fitted one, he offered to wait until he had fitted a 5 but I needed the car pronto, It was wierd how it was only not selecting 5th

I probably have wasted a shed load of fuel, but happy days its fixed, big thanks to robbie, ryan and archie
