280bhp in a Punto with no LSD and also turbo kick will deffo equal lots of spin. can't see you beating 14 secs so yeah 14.5 sounds about right!

Patrick does MaxP bhp calculations
Adam. Trust me, I know what I'm doing this time!
Gonna be getting some decent engine management probably MBE, getting the pistons done, lightened and balanced bottom end, adjustable vernier pulleys, injectors, can't be bothered to name it all. It's gonna be done properly this time though!

He's right Patrick - spend a bit of time getting sorting the mods you've already had done - it'll be well worth it. Also you have to remember that you can't drive at your peak power rpm - you have to drive across a range of rpms, so what's important is getting your power band as wide as poss. Also, I think your 1/4 mile times are a bit optimistic - I'll be making around 240bhp per tonne when I finally get T499 on the road, but if I can get my 1/4 down from 14.7 to 14.0, I'll be well pleased

There should also be some track time - turbo power figures look very impressive on paper, but NA engines can generally get round a track just as quickly for less bhp - none of this on and off boost business.

Patrick - take you time and think about what your doing junk the diblas for a start
Yeah, but your power band comes in earlier than 5000rpm Once I'm moving I'm OK - it's just realy hard to get that initial traction. Having said that, we'll see how my little addition performs

Am gonna be keeping the Dbilas TB's. Will be uprating everything else though. Alot has already been done hence the 170bhp at the moment. All thats left now is a decent ECU set up, some uprated high compression pistons, some decent injectors, lightened and balanced bottom end and flywheel, furthur strengthening of everything, and a few more bits which will be done by this summer and I can realistically see my power sitting at around 200bhp, maybe a bit more?
With everything strenthened up and with a progressive controller I can't see the harm with adding some nitrous injection. It won't be abused and won't be used regulary! With power in the region of 220 - 250bhp (Which I don't think is unrealistic) I think it is highly possible to get 1/4's in the high 13's/ low 14's!
Interior will be stripped and a good LSD will be fitted.

Yes. Regal rollers produced 170bhp, local rolling road tuners produced 171bhp!
So is pretty accurate yeah!
