when i drove one i thought it was poor, heavy and unresponsive steering, gutless engine although it did seem quite torquey at low revs.
was the 1.8 version.

I dont rate them personally, the Vr6 imo is one of the most overrated engines ever 2.8/9 v6 producing what 180 - 190 bhp depending on what its in.... cant see how vw managed to get so little from nearly 3 litres!

weird how many people say otherwise.
its not about peak bhp imo, but the fact it still gives a lot of cars a run for their money, not a thing gone wrong with engine after 190,000miles, that is impressive to me
