Drop a 2L in it mush easier (especially if you get someone else to do it.)

2.0 seems to be the best power gain u can get with money vs power or a 2.0 turbo

go for a different engine..
i went the powerbox, cams, pocketed pistons new ecu route works out very expensive.
the engine is very strong though, the only problems i have are cold starting can be a pain, although seems to be better now. and the ecu failed, fitted a new one and its fine again.
the 8k rev limiter is a bit hard to get used to though, i hate reving it that high, i've changed it back to 7500 now that i found out peak power is at 7033.
only problem is i could do with a more accurate rev counter lol

cheers for that mate,
problem is found mantzel parts
powerbox: 20 bhp, £475, £350 fitting
Piper Cams: £300 10 bhp, £150 fitting
cat by pass: £50,
Manifold: £350, £100 fitting
so thats £1175 parts, and £600 fitting
then i need a programmable unichip £400
The pipercross viper filter at £250
so all in going to cost around £2500 - just for bout 125 bhp!!
why dont i just buy a zetec s fiesta with 110 bhp standard and put in cams, chip, manifold etc??
Well I'll tell you, I didn't cost me 2500 pounds, that's about 4000 euros!!!
Check Artkart's website and click on x14xe.pdf!
I'm in Phase II now.
Cheers,
Arthur

the head of the 1.6 is different to the 1.4 in the size of inlet and exhaust ports so swapping over the bottom end would work but then youll still never have full 109bhp gsi power. Remember on the 1.4 you have EGR in the head to get rid of that the 1.6 gsi never had, so that means youll need a 1.6 sport block and ECU, and by the time youve done that you may as well have just put an unopened 1.6 in there!

How do you get rid of EGR then? You need a 1.6 head?

the 1.6 gsi head and 1.4 sport head are different,
but the 1.4 sport and 1.6 sport heads are the same.
