yeah seems a good plan, ive done it loads, just keep changing your story when you explain how it got lost so they dont click on your committing fraud.
The last time I told them I was out in Iraq serving for my country as a bomb disposal agent, my arms got blown off and my iphone was destroyed.
My insurance offered me a like for like replacement or cash. I said 'I'll take the cash, I've got no arms and its a touch screen - how am I supposed to use a replacement? with my knob?'...
You should do this as a business will.

There's an app in cydia when you jailbreak it that lets you change the IMEI number anyway.. just change it to that of an old Nokia or something. That way they can't block it.
Make sure its an old phone thats capable of transferring data though else they may find you out.
I think the app was called iAndrogyne or something.

I'm actually genuinely considering emailing this page to Crimestoppers and having them serve me a DPA section 29 so I'm legally obligated to hand over everyones details, such is my genuine anger with the fact that people who aren't dishonest fuckers get to pay more for their lives because of this.

Little bit extreme isnt it?
Im sure most of the people who have said they have done it are most likely just trying to look big on the internet and wouldnt dare report it lost etc.

So this is why Iphone insurance has gone up from £7.50 a month to £15 then.
