IIRC, when I last looked, anything compatible with google power meter involved in buying fairly expensive hardware and/or paying another monthly subscription on top of that.
It wont be long until its free.

My current cost meter only cost around £30 and via my server uploads its data to Google Power meter.
Certainly not expensive
