It is absolutely shite. The strange thing is it tastes cheaper than Tesco's own £1.99 Wine and it's three times the price.

you should get a number 1 and number 50 and a few in between to try them

Number 1 is the stuff from the top and 50 is from the bottom so thicker

Aye Wayne I'm talking about Buckfast. The thing is it isn't THAT strong. For the same price you could get three cheap cat piss bottles of Wine if you wanted to be hammered on the cheap!

£6.70 last time i bought a bottle.
I think the last time i drank it i bought 2 bottles and woke up at the bottom of my stairs.

Sometimes you get a nice sweet bottle, other times it needs a mix.

I don't enjoy wine but am pretty well clued up about it due to my job (or ex job!)

People always think expensive wines are going to be better. Not true. Wine is very much a personal taste.

You may love a £3 wine and hate a £1000 wine.

I can try and answer any questions etc.

There was a group of Scottish lads in my hotel in Ibiza, I never saw a single one of them without a bottle of bucky in their hand no matter what time of day or where we were

Buckfast is fortified so it's more like port or sherry, not mulled wine which is hot spiced wine. It's also got so much caffeine in it, it makes Red Bull look like tap water.

Exactly! Price means fuck all, it's all about what tastes good to you. It's hard to recommend wines to people as everyone's different, just keep trying them.

I agree, this wine is pretty good.

I sometimes enjoy a bottle of Froglet from M&S, both red and white are nice.

I go for a full bodied & fruity red wine with a hint of spice.
any old Chablis is usually good white wine.
Riojas are usually great reds.

rule of thumb is to check the dimple on the bottom of the bottle. if its really deep then it should be a good wine, if its nearly flat then its a crap wine.
Only reason for that is you dont put good wine in a shit bottle

ones i would say to try are :

Casillero Del Diablo - Cabernet Sauvignon (like Lawrah said)
Isla Nega - Cabernet Sauvignon
Wolf Blass "Yellow Label" - Cabernet Sauvignon
Baron De Ley - Rioja (ranged from £7-£25)

If you can stretch to ones like Penfolds Bin Range (notice i say Range and not Grange.. 2 very different priced wines from Penfolds ), Villa Maria, Porcupine Ridge, Ravenswood..

Im more of a white wine man at the moment, reds give me wicked hangover

Sour numbers are alot of shit the number on the bottle has fuck all to do with what barrel it comes from. Its the batch of glass used in the bottle making factory So 'Sour Numbers' don't exist

You must not like it then if you add ribena Same with people that say they can't drink buckfast without a fag its because they don't like the taste!

Its actually the top or bottom of the barrel 1 is top and is thin, 50 is from the bottom so thick

I only add ribena if I get a bottle that tastes bad

The "brown bottle" Buckfast has a caffeine content about equal to brewed or percolated coffee, while the "green bottle" Buckfast has a caffeine content about equal to black tea.

I did not know this.

Numbers are simply for auditing purposes to categorise & document each batch. That they correspond to quality or sweetness is thought to be a myth

I like Rose wine.
And white wine that doesn't taste like your head explodes when you have a sip. Don't like strong wines, prefer fruity.

Rose is fav though, cos im a poof.
