removing the parcelshelf The only way i get 35mpg on the motorway is to stick at one speed (about 80) as long as possible and to avoid heavy accelerating.

Umm I think not John, I reep the benefits of having a fuel effecient car...

For starters I'm not putting every penny I earn into running it...

Basically just reach the speed you want and take your foot off the accelator as much as possible before you start losing speed. Anything else is overkill. My MPG saving usually goes out the window when something remotely fast goes past and I chase it

Best advice is to sell the fuel inefficient car. Bear in mind that the extra money you save in buying somethingnelse will far outweigh any fuel saving you make.

Might as well just enjoy what you've got tbh.

Though the initial outlay for the car was high, so if you didnt want to plough money into it you couldve bought a cheaper economical car and its win win.

For my car yes it was, but, that's what I wanted plus I had some money left to me to be spent, just accepted a HUGE payrise!

But the Ibiza I had before which was pretty much as economical was 4k.

If you want very cheap for under 1k you can get a 106 diesel or something along those lines!

Take lots of laxatives the night before you drive to make sure you're not carrying any excess shite around with you.

not really. lots of new cars don't have spare wheels and no car is more likely to get a puncture than another car

focus didn't have one, just some tyreweld foam stuff and i was fine.

Read the road well in advance, to save any braking that could be avoided.

I do a lot of motorway miles. Best way to save fuel is to sit around 60MPH.

I wouldn't be removing the spare wheel either, i've had 2 blow outs in the past 8 months due to my company using shite budget tyres. Quite scary at 70MPH in the outside lane
