I had a 172 Cup and loved it. Enjoy it mate.
They do what they say on the tin, never felt fast though, I'd rather have a turbo.

It's not always about speed, it's the whole package.
To some extent it reminds me of my Nova.

If i wasn't to fussed about speed it's pretty much the perfect car for the now...
Plus 35 MPG even if i ragged it to death was very welcome over the scoob

people who say there not fast...i dont get that
its a fun reving engine! doesnt need the 'turbo torque' if you drive it properly
and the handling is great, miles better than any standard vauxhall iv ever driven

Never liked the whole rev the nuts off thing tbh
172/182...CTR etc
Lets face it we don't drive like that 90% of the time so the turbo/diesel torque boost helps when moving off.

And the gearbox, what a lovely box.
It's just like my mates old R5 GTT which had a really lovely throw on it.
Trouble is all I want to do is drive it
It's a Ph2 172 in black, I've got 4 weeks to get fit for Coombe after my operation, that is my goal and get the Clio out on track.

It's no drag racer but it's just as much fun as an E46 M3 even though it's miles slower the handling is amazing. And if you like that Ollie go drive an R26

And revving it to get it going is so much fun. Turbo power is lazy power and of you wanna drive FAST then you'll need to re it properly its so much more rewarding.
Mine was supposed to be a runabout and I just can't stop spending money on it
New brakes seats dash strips stereo few serviceable items etc.
Even been thinking of painting bits black

One of the best cars ive ever owned my 182 Cup, wish i never sold it, dont know what you've got till its gone and all that. Used to actually look forward to going to work so i could blast it round the empty back B roads every morning.

i think its because of me, to much ocd, but at the end of the day i just didnt trust it, the blue one i returned to standard and it just never felt "right"
the black one was nicer, but i can never get over the whole cheapness of it, and i was forever replacing shitty bits of trim or stuff that just shouldnt wear out, also the shitty jacking point had folded over and was rusting and as you can imagine botherd the cunt out of me
also the fact i was going to have to buy a complete driveshaft as you can get cv's botherd me, and they to me just seem like your be forever spending on them, which for me as a daily driver with other projects on the go just didnt suit my needs

Good cheap fun. So long as you don't expect much you normally end up happy
I like mine but I'm pissed because I had to spend money on it

yer jr you have to look past the crisp packet construction of the french cars and the bits that dont quite fit right. So for someone of your calibre its probably not good
Just remember shit plastic = lightness = fun
