I recently had to make this choice myself. Although I have no personal experience with BC's, I have been in 2 cars fitted with TEINs. On the Mitsubishi forum there is a whole thread dedicated to BC faults, that immediatly put me off them. Plus the cars with TEINs fitted handled and felt amazing imo.

Never had them but Rob_b and a mate of mine have had them on a CTR without problems. Also I think Paul_J runs them on his s2000.
Never heard of any problems and they are going to be better then some things you could buy

Mostly road use just street racing mostly if I'm honest  It's just a toy so day to day comfort doesn't overly bother me having said that I don't want it stiff as fuck with is why I'm looking at BC's or I'd just buy AP's having had good results from them in the past. I do the odd trackday and I'll be going back to Nurburgring at some point so I need to sort the cars tendency to step the back end out and lose the boatiness at speed.

Iv had sat on my own car and they are very good, alot stiffer than bc tho, much more track orientated! Graham, I'll get pics tomorrow, I also have a customer with then on his evo, and that's a absolute awesome car, used to live round the ring until he got his focus rs

Cheers mate, I think the rears of mine are still a seperate spring and shock, which is a bit gay, might still be quite bouncy compared to the front

Heard a few good things about BC, and a mate hasnt had any worries with 2 sets on his 2 primeras. I would also look into XYZ Racing. I've got them on my Accord and they are superb for the price. I dont think price means anything tbh. I know of people who are jibbing their £1k Tein set-up for a set of these XYZ's (£610).
Names do sometimes mean poor value too!

Have you tried gaz or avo? I think both there items are really good quality and have always been impressed with there stuff. Collecting my avo shocks next week for my viva!

I've got BC racing coilovers on my s2000. They're alright - no worse than other budget brands.
Infact BC racing is just the slightly more expensive brands like apexi or something re branded (made in same place).

Why?
Less rust/corrsosion protection or because you dont sell them ?
AVO - would never fit/buy them again. Had a set (cant r'ber model but about £500) on my old corsa and they were utter shite.
Ticked all the boxes that would make most on here happy. Hard, low, bouncy.... but no dampning composure - just pish. The rears seized, and burst.
GAZ - never tried but i'd class in the same bracket of the market.
TEIN - lower end are crap (Top end are much better). Had budget TEINS on the white Impreza - CRAP. Have TEIN top of the range on the Skyline - VERY GOOD.

Plus what you have to remember is I have a Mazda 3, hardly the most common car, so barely anybody does anything for them!

with the BC's you can choose yer spring comforts from near standard through to hardcore track stuff, and i bet theyre better then a lot of other 500-600 quid coilovers

what I'm trying to say is no £500 susp for this sort of car (evo/impreza) is 'good'
Anyway. I'll try and not comment again - looks like I have an agenda against suspension I've never tried

go to a dealer of GAZ with your shock. they will make a set for £550ish if GAZ havent got a set already

i sell AVO and GAZ, and AST, and FK etc etc etc yes, used to run them on my car, currently run them on boss's escort track car, mine corroded badly as i used it as a road car and didnt maintain them
used a few sets of TEIN's aswell never been hugly impressed with them for the money.
For the original poster i would recommend the BC coilovers, used them alot very good value for money and they ride really well.
if he could stretch more i would start looking at Bilstein.
AVO and GAZ units are more of a track shock than road use, thats what people very often forget.

You really do get what you pay for with suspension i do agree, but you can pick good £500 suspension and crap £500 suspension dont you agree?

There is something to be said for the higher end stuff though. Ive got bilstien b8's on the saxo and they ride and handle really well

Thing is, for the Jap cars, AVO and GAZ don't have much...if anything. And, like he says...his mazda isnt the most common of cars.
I would defo say BC or XYZ's tbh bud.

Which is exactly why I am interested in the BC's as AP can't do that yet they're the same price

You can/should be able to specify spring rates with any suspension. If they dont allow it just ask for a price without springs and source springs elsewhere.
What spring rates do you want to go for? (in kgmm)

That kinda stuff is way over my head....
I'd have thought if I'm buying coilovers car specific they should come with the correct poundage rate etc anyway??
I mostly want them cause the car boats too much at speed and the back end feels too distant from the car under braking and tends to sway a bit...

so why have you stated its a plus point that you can state which spring rates you require?
Car specfic is a VERY broad term - What does that 'car' get used for?
Flat dimple free motorways?
B roads?
Flat circuits?
Is your 'car' more modified than other 'car' - i.e different geometry, roll centre, weight etc
If you are just abit peeved because your car boats at speed (corners) why not just swap to firmer springs?
Distant back end - how do you have it set up? Do you have any ARB's. Is it tow in etc?
There is a lot more to car setup that just buying a £500 set of BC 'budget crap' suspension and then saying it handles like its on rails - when really it just crashes and bangs its way down the road.
I'm not expert and cant offer you much advice on your car - I just know what I like with our cars.
