I feel it gets worse each season (not worse to watch but the previous season is always better). Season 1 and 2 were fantastic, then it trails off a little. Season 6 has been a lot better though.

Last season dragged on a little as he was becoming more happy and settled in life but that got sorted out eventually

I keep hoping they kill some of the characters off.
I hate Angel, Dexter's sister, Rita, Lila and the whole Spanish talking thing, they bring nothing to the table.
Also Dokes and his stupid moustache but I'm just at the bit he might be being taken care of so nobody spoil it for me.

I watched them all consecutively and can honestly say there was little to no differences between series'.
There's bad people that murder people, he murders them, the end. It's a simple yet effective premise

I got addicted to Dexter, I agree that some of the seasons turned a bit weak.
I'm currently watching Season 6, on episode 9 as of Sunday. Although they only have 4 episodes left of the season and i'm not sure where they're going with it. I had high hopes for Season 6 but so far it hasn't lived up to my expectations

Download torrents of the HD rip every Monday. It shows on Showtime in the US every Sunday 9pm, so by Monday morning the torrents are on all the usual websites

Yeah they've signed 2 more seasons and that is definitely it.
I saw it coming, now 7 will all be about what happens now between Dex/Deb and also start sewing the seed with that Louis guy, then I reckon Season 8 Finale Season will be a biggy.
They haven't decided yet whether they'll kill Dexter off or not, personally I don't think they will

The books don't follow the series at all so they have carte blanche with how they want to go.
Probably better that way, you don't get comic geeks telling you what's happening in the next Batman for example.
