I would feel more of a mug paying over £400 for a "detail" then using some silicon on my car

I suppose if you have no clue about detailing, and can't afford a proper detail...then this stuff may seem a good idea.

Why does it matter if it leaves the car clean with a good shine? Brand snobbery I think.

i use an orange bucket which is left in the garden and full of rain water, i use turtle wax triple shampoo and if i am going all out i might use SRP.

i dont use silicon mate but i would use it if required, i dont think people i drive past will look at me and say "oh no, he has cleaned his car with silicon"
