It's like anything though, if you are a tight arsed bastard that doesn't get the car serviced at the right intervals you forgo the warranty.

I think this whole 100,000 mile warranty thing seems like a good deal from Vauxhall if its as comprehensive as a 3 year one. Hopefully it will push other manufacturer's in the same direction.

I'm assuming its all models, VXR's included?

100,000 miles in a VXR is about 8 gearboxes.

I liked the advert, its clever, attracting back old owners etc.

With a "lifetime" warranty, its also a very good way of "customer lock in"

Win, win for Vauxhall really.

I would be interested to see what the servicing requirements are.

And yes, 5 door Vauxhall GTEs do exist.

You would have to be a retard not to notice the 100,000 mile limit, it's not as if they've stuck it in the small print it actually forms part of the advert.

"The Lifetime Warranty is dependent on an annual visit of the vehicle to a Vauxhall Authorised Repairer who will activate and validate the warranty extension for another year starting from the new activation date.

Activation and validation of the warranty is required every 12 months. This can only be carried out by a Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.

The activation and validation can be performed up to 14 days after the expiry date of the preceding certificates expiry date.

Annual activation and validation of the lifetime warranty cover is also dependent upon the confirmation that the vehicle has been serviced in accordance with the manufacturers recommended servicing schedule. Vauxhall may request details of this service history at any time during the warranty period."

ie. it costs money to keep it in warranty?

Or it's a free check and you just produce your Halfords receipts?
